A hose will usually hold pressure on the return. Just residual pressure to return to th master cylinder. On the pressure side, it has a large amount of pressure to overcome any blockage. A close loook at the old pads might give light to the problem. Worn at an angle? Inner/outer pad excessively worn? When I remove pads I mark inner/outer so I get a good look at whats going on. Another possable problem could be contamination of the system. Something other than brake fluid in the system. Ususlly makes all the rubber parts distorted and soft, and ALL RUBBER PARTS must be replaced........steve

 

If the bearings wernt centered correctly it will load up one side of the caliper.

 

Excessive heat from the exhaust/muffler would also contribute to hose failure....Steve

 

I have a 2010 Fat Boy , sent it in for a $30 brake job , parts extra. 5 weeks later ,

1. Rebuilt master cyclinder
2. Replaced rear wheel bearings
3. Replaced rear rotor
4. Replaced brake fluid
5. Caliper Inspected

Lost all brakes twice durning this period , last time I got home brakes squealing and reaching tempertures of 478 F on rear rotor. Shop will no longer take or return my calls.
