Question New Harley-Davidson quick detach kit for Heritage Classic saddlebags - Opinions?

Does anyone has already tried this product?

Because it is one original Harley-Davidson product, I guess the fitment for Heritage Classic saddlebags should be perfect, but I'd like to know the experience of who has purchased it.

How is the clearance between the saddlebags and the motorcycle, when there is a quick detachable backrest kit installed? And the overall impression of the kit?

Thanks in advance!

I asked about them today at the dealer. I was told they won't be available until October. Parts guy told me he had seen them at the dealer show and they looked pretty good and should support the bag quite well. From what he remembered they didn't stick the bags out too far, if you don't have a detachable back rest.

Thanks, Baracu!

That's what makes me worried. I'd prefer to use a detachable hardware from Harley, to make sure I can use my OEM saddlebags with a kit that perfectly fits my bike, but looking at the pictures I've wondered how far the bags will be from the bike, with a detachable back rest.
I like the idea of the kit, but I wouldn't want to change the bike's esthetic too much.

Well, lets wait the parts to be available and see what other users say.

I ordered them last week. Doing detachable bags and backrest. Sounds like I might not see them for a while if BARACU is correct. Oh well.

They're easy to take off already IMHO. Why make them easy to steal?

Mine are on 99% of the time. Occasionally pull them when I give the bike a good cleaning. Takes a few minutes with a 1/2 wrench.

Yeah, I thought about keeping them original, and removing them with a wrench when needed. I just don't like the protuberant bolts on the bike, without the bags.

I thought about it but do not remove my bags that often to warrant it. Also I would have to remove the saddle bag guards and the passenger floor boards for it to fit.
