Default What should I look for in new rotors?

Changing my stock wheels over to chrome solids on my 07 FatBoy and want to find a set of chrome rotors to compliment the new wheels. What should I look for? What's a floating rotor compared to a standard rotor. Stainless steel, polished or chrome? Will also need a new pulley to go along with the new bling. Has anyone been down this road recently? Thanks in advance

How's this look? Chrome Fat Boy wheels with polished stock rotors. You can polish out your stockers with about 5 bucks worth of sandpaper.

You ever try a Scotch Brite pad or a sponge with some of theGo-Jo hand cleaner that feels like it has sand in it?
Use them withwater and you'll be surprised how well they work. The hand cleaner is great because it will cut through oil, grease, rust, and even paint if you use a bit of effort.
I used the sponge, a Scotch brite pad and Go-Jo to rip the paint off my old bikes tank. Was a bit of work, but it left a clean, scratch free bare metal surface behind, perfect forprimer.

When it's time for new rotors I will get the stainless steel floating rotors with the center (hub) chrome. They came standard on my Wife's SEFB and they look good and don't squeal like the stock rotors on my Deluxe...Just my 2 cents....

I doubt if you can polish them up to look like this with a Scotchbrite pad and some hand cleaner. I did these with 320-2000 sandpaper.

You'll see a lot of reflection off your solid chrome wheel so make sure you like the back of the new rotor too.

I used an orbital attachment in an electric drill. It takes about 30 minutes per side once you master not tearing your paper on the edges of the rotor.

Wonder how a cloth covered polishing head would work with some rubbing compound?
At least on one that didn't have any rust on it already.
For rusty rotors you might need to start with something a bit rougher. Valve grinding compound?
