Default Gas Tank Recall

Took my '09' Heritage in for the recall this morning. The dealership (Blue Ridge HD in Hickory, NC) was great to deal with and took care of it right away. They said the paperwork takes longer than the procedure. I ask what they did and the service manager said that they have a tool that 'rolls' the threads in the tank for a better seal. It doesn't cut any metal. I have had problems with gas leaking out of the tank but know that a little pressure and another quarter turn on the cap will work. I'm going to put the cap on 'normally' now to see if this is really a fix.

Gotta get mine in too. Sometimes (not often) I smell a bit of gas after parking it in the garage.

Is the recall on all 09's? What is the problem with the tanks?

The recall is not just '09'. It's several years. I don't remember now. My paperwork is gone. I have been filling up, putting the cap on with just a few clicks and it seems to be working. No problems so far. Will know more next summer when the temps are above 90 again but I think I'm good to go.

Yes this seems to fix the problem with fuel coming out if you fill the tank all the way up. Had mine done a couple weeks ago and went on a trip and filled it up several times with no problem.
