I refuse to do gravel if I can help it.. Dropped not mine, but a friends kawa.. Gravel is just unrefined ball-bearings laying around waiting on unsuspecting motorcycles.

My friend bought a new Road King and dropped it a week after he bought it. The "crash bars" saved his hard bags and anything else the ground could've touched if it wasn't for the "safety bars" I got crash bars on mym "D" just in case. They look good too I think!!

Hmmm...I'm not a big engine guard fan. Maybe on a dresser, but not on a Softail. IMHO, of course.

I like mine, but modified them to be more like leg extenders by putting on pegs and foot pads I think you can see this in the pic below??

I just put a set of the Lindby bars on my Heritage Springer. They fit right at the tip of the floorboards so you can't slide your feet forward and ride with just your heels. I'm also just over 6'2" and putting my feet up on the bars is very uncomfortable. I'll probably put some folding pegs out on the sides for any long trips. I also rested my legs on top of the bars for awhile to check that out. The only reason I have them is because the wife bought them for me for Christmas and she'll have a huge fit if I get rid of them...[] Fortunately my floorboards are comfortable for most of my long distance riding.

Personally, I like the Kuryakyn Ergo-Guard the best. If I had discovered this one before I'd purchased my H-D engine guard, an Ergo-Guard would be on my bike now.

I felt the same way, but I found these and they really look and work nice on my Heritage.
