Question Throttle Cable issue - Burly - Gangster 16"

I purchased 16" Carlini Gansters and the accompanying cable kit from Burly they sell, along with the extensions - I purchased new handgrips from Hd (chrome and rubber - part number was one HD recommended) Got everything tore down, and have noticed that my throttle cable seems to be 1/2" to an 1" to long. Idle cable is fine, clutch, brake, bars..everything cept the throttle..any idea what I might be missing?

I called Carlini and they said that sounded odd and to take a photo, which I will - just wanted to check with the folks here as well.

I would try rerouting the throttle cable in an alternate way as to take up the extra length on the cable. As far as cable kits for bikes, they are not an exact science.

What do you mean by 1/2" to 1" to long? Do you mean the over all length or do you mean that it is so long that you have slack and the throttle will not function?

I assumed that he meant it would not slack enough to allow the throttle to function properly but we all know about assumptions.

If it's just 1/2 inch too long...that is easy to line up when running and fix it to make it look perfect. One thing to consider with throttle and idle cables is turning your bars. You don't want it too tight and when you turn your bars to left it gets way too tight and pulls on the cables in the carb area. Make sure you are checking this stuff correctly. If you have the bars turned all the way to the right then it will show more slack because they will have more play when turned all the way that way. FYI

Default sorry

The cable itself is fine - I have slack so the throttle will not function properly. Thanks! This is killing me....

I am assuming that you have ran your adjustment all the way out and it is as tight as you can get it?

Let's see some pics of the gangsters, a.d what height are you, I'm only 5'10'' and its been suggested to me that 16's might be too high.
