I'm 5' 7" w/ a 30" inseam (I used to be closer to 5' 10" before a car wreck a few years ago but that's another story...) and I'm definitely looking THROUGH it, big time.
I'd have to cut it down a good 2, maybe 3" to see over it - that is, in my usual bar-stool slouch riding position. If I sit up straight, the top is eyeball level.
This one (H-D P/N 57400111 - pg. 199 in the catalog) is listed as 18".
Geezus, the 21"er must be like a barn door...!

I haven't ridden it yet, still waiting on better weather.
The only drawback I see to looking through, might be in rain.

I traded in a Switchback last year, and that screen was, I believe 16" (?).
I was able to just see over that windshield, of course the seat was completely different, so we'll see how it goes.
I can still always cut it down or replace it with an H-D 16" replacement, or a Long Ride Shields screen if it's a problem...
I'll know more after a first ride...

Regardless, this is strictly a part-time addition, for day-trips, highway use and bad weather...

I look over the top of mine only because I switched to the pogp-style police seat.
I am with Jam, l intend to use the windshield in colder weather or or for extended all-day rides.

Windshield on the slim looks a little weird to me, but I can appreciate the functionality after riding 350 mi this past Saturday!

Agreed, the Slim is definitely better looking in cruiser mode, but I figure for those times when I'm going to need it, I won't care what it looks like...

Im with you guys, even on longer rides the fullface just isn't cutting it. Will be picking up a windshield for rides that are 2 hrs or more in 1 direction. Plus it will help when the bugs start coming out in force.

last summer i took an 1800mi trip to MT, ID and OR where places had 25-35mph headwinds... talk about a hell of a trip. At that point I vowed to have a shield and to hell what my bike looks like after 8 hours of ab crunches.

So I posted my slim on here before looking one way but something told me that I should go back to what the bike originally looked like. so with 4 months of shopping and getting everything I want I almost have it finished.

Took off the luggage rack, spring solo seat, back mounted plate, and solo bag. which is all for sale haha!

Added, axle license plate model a light, toolbox, original stock seat but reupholstered and cut foam dish to make seat a little more slim and lower. painted the auxiliary lights. Added RSD levers, and straighter floorboards like how the deluxe has. Next week is spring break so I will be going out to LA to get that shotgun shock

I really hope you didn't change your bike just because someone told you to...

Love that plate holder.
I've been looking at those from Lick's & Dime City Cycles.
Also considering a Roto-Plate, in case I need to appease some LEO...

..pm sent on the rack...
