No, the tank was just fine. I was not a fan of the Army star. I am a Navy vet. I do like the olive gold matt paint. This is my cost effective way of getting rid of the star and having a custom bike. I replaced the gas cap and gauge with black flush mount cap and gauge. I really like the look.
