I kept the switches in their stock config, created backing brackets from two strips of sheet metal, bent those to conform to the backside of the switches, drilled holes in top and bottom for bolts to secure everything, and the finishing touch was the switches to brackets with some of that superstrength velcro (the 10lb kind).
Works great, have put on about 1000 miles since and absolutely no worries.

I'll go back and revise with more detail on the other thread when I get a chance.
Thanks, watching.

EDIT: might take a dremel with sanding disk to it to get a more uniform swirl pattern.
FWTW, I think the random movement look on the housing fits better than a uniform swirl. More natural, like a patina instead of a design. If you do change it, post pics. tp

Keep in mind, the pic has the contrast etc. turned up to really show the effect. In person it's not as dramatic. Plus, no one is ever really on the ground looking at the Primary. LoL

Went a little harder with the covers. lots of time doing little swirls with a wire brush attachment.

Here's the Primary before with just sandpaper rub...

Looks much better in the sun than the first pass did. I'll tell you, my hands were vibrating for a while after all that!
