I' not totally positive, but I think that bracket is for the license
plate/turnsignal relocation kit. I happen to like the plate on the
side & not the rear, so when I added the turnsignal relocation kit
(for my backrest), it was "interesting" to get it to work and keep
the sidemounted license plate holder. You can see a picture
in my garage....

Used to live in Cruces. Will be moving back from N Texas to Taos soon, looking for green chile and sunsets like that. Nice Slim!

Ahh. Thanks for the info. I think you're right. But I guess I could use it for a LED anyway.
