Its been a really good riding season this year but I finally got around the cleaning her up and polishing out the covers so I thought I would ***** out a few pics.
Has anyone out there heard or seen or tried to put a crossbones spring seat setup kit on their slim?!
The Xbones parts will bolt right on your Slim, But I found the seat too high.
I cut down, chopped and welded the front and rear seat mounts from a XBones. Seating position is great, and after an hour in the saddle, I am VERY comfortable. I picked up 2 inches of legroom with this seat. (measured to the low seat point, stock seat vs this one), and it feels like even more legroom. Higher seating position makes it much easier to move the bike via foot power. (garage, parking, stoplight, etc).
I will take some photos soon of the stock front mount vs my Chopped front mount. I took exactly 1" off of the rear mount. (Right below the springs). I have the older style HD Panhead seat. The XBones seat has exactly the same mounting points, (same bottom shape).
The seat springs make a huge difference when riding over harsh bumps, softening the ride.
