I've got a mustang seat on my slim and I like it a lot. There isn't any sliding and I feel firmly in place at higher speeds when riding.

Slimshadey, I have had a bad back for several years and I must have a back rest. The Mustang back rest does give good support. You can adjust it, up and down and there is a screw, on the back of the back rest. This let's you adjust the backrest back and forth.

You can order a backrest with the Corbin, it's much better than the mustang day tripper. I had the backrest with the day tripper also and did not like it. Of course the mustang seat was much better than stock, but the Corbin is even better than the mustang.

When riding with the mustang seat, I tended to push my self further back, for comfort, and end up feeling the upswing of the seat in my tailbone. That just irritated me too much. Maybe I'm just too tall for that seat (6'0")?

Then the backrest for the mustang irritated me in a different way. It pushed me forward, sure it kept me off of the rear of the seat, but I didn't like being pushed forward. I wanted the backrest so I could lean back, not be pushed forward. And this was with it adjusted fully back, it only went more forward from there.

The Corbin backrest actually allows you to lean back into it. I could adjust it to lay back at a 45* angle if I so chose to.

As always, it is a personal decision. How much is the Corbin seat with backrest?

I paid around $1000 for the Corbin set; rider seat, with heating element (it's cheaper if you don't want heat), passenger pillion and backrest. Plus you can customize to your hearts content if you want. Different leather, any color stitching, studs, no studs. I just went plain leather, black stitching, no studs....no flash.

I paid around $600 for the mustang set with seat, pillion and backrest.

So yes, the Corbin costs more, but you get what you pay for. And I feel like the Corbin is much better.

Not sure if this question was directed at me or not, but I'll respond.
There is no performance benefit. Just like almost anything else
(seats, big front wheels, mirrors, fenders, signals, etc) its a matter
of preference. But, I can guarantee you that no one will stumble out
of the bar and get on my bike by mistake - there's no other one
that looks like it. As for coil "relocation", the spot in the center
is a "stock" location for the Softail Blackline, but I believe it
uses the head mount, not the horn mount. I mounted
the horn in the typical Sportster spot near the top of the down tubes.

hope this helps,

T.

Bike looks great with the new pipes, how is the sound compaired to the stock slip-ons? Are they baffled?
