They are called fork gaiters. Just google them.

Old skool name is fork gaiters. Unsure what they are also referred to today.

Google "harley davidson fork gaiters". 69,600 hits...tomp

Those look like the Arlen Ness "retro" fork sliders.
They're not rubber like the current Sportster Iron gaiters.
(and they cost ~$180)

Yessir. When bobbers were first built, the gaiters were necessary, as the concentricity of fork tubes and quality of fork seals were poor and the gaiters helped in protection and longevity. Besides, they look cool.

My '12 KLR650 came with them too, for fork protection from off road dust and dirt, and because they look cool...Bonneville T100's have them, also.

Thanks man! I love hearing about the history of bike design so thank u for that bit of info. Does harley sell these or do I have to get it from an aftermarket? Any recommendations guys?

2014 Daytona Blue Softail Slim. Picked up on November 20, 2013. I love this bike and the paint scheme!

I LOVE that paint!! I almost opted for it, but I want to black out my bike and I think that paint is screaming for chrome.
