Default RE: side mount license plate????

I did the Kuryakyn curved side mount license plate without the tail light 2 months ago.

Not sure about the red with the yellow stripe, but I know that the Blue is the run light for the stock tail light on the Deuce (I would guess it's the same for the FXSTS). MY local HD dealer confirmed the Blue. I used the Blue and a black for the ground (any black will work for the ground) I think there were 3 black if I remember correctly. Mine works fine.

I have the curved Kuryakyn. I have the Panacea tailight so I just wired it to the extra ground and run wires.

Hey man I felt the same way when I payed $16K for a 200mm phat tires softail. Tell you what I did. I took off the plate and moved it as far up under the rear tail light as I could and drilled new holes for it then cut the rest off with a cut off wheel. I also cut off all the excess side plastic, prettymuch just left the plastic under the plate. I then "cut up" the inspection plate and drilled a hole in it and mounted it under the left side passenger peg. IMHO the side plates don't look good on a "stock" bike....I think they are more at home on a long, lean chopper, but again that is my opinion. Hey man that is a FREE mod that looks good and then you got more money to spend on your scooter! Hope this helps you or at least shows you there are other options.

Also saw athe 2into1V&H big radius pipes...boy do those look sweet, but I dont think they'll fill an 05 deuce....Will have to call.

I'll sell you the one I just got. It's just like the one in PhantomMaxx's animated picture, except mine is gloss black and has a cateye brake light on the side. Brand new and unopened from Heartland USA. I'm thinking of doing something different and won't need this one anymore.

Sounds like you're going to have to mount the bags first to see if you have room for the sidemount.
I kind of doubt you will have space.

You can certainly mount the tag to the bag, but then you're stuck with leaving the bags on full time, which is fine if that is what you're after.
