Default Tale Tell signs of back wheel bearing issues.

A guy with a 08' Deluxe just like mine was broke down due to a busted back wheel bearing. I was just wondering if there are any ways to know if a bearing is going bad other than checking end-play. My bike is low mileage (4600 miles), but it got me to thinking what would have happened if he had been at highway speeds instead of in-town cruising when that happened. He and his wife was just turning into a parking lot when the back wheel started to wobble!

Do a search on here. The wheel bearings were changed to some garbage foreign bearings starting in 08. TONS of failures!!!!! I bought a brand new rocker (08). First wheel bearing failure at 6k!!! Second at 7k!!! That one was at 65 mph, not fun. HD tired to stiff me on that failure. Did 1200 bucks damage...including the belt...they wanted me to eat it, when it was obviously THEIR problem. They fixed it...The bearings can be replaced for less than 50 bucks front and back to a quality Timken or All *****. DO IT NOW, DON'T WAIT!!! At an indept. mechanic!

Man!! I'm glad I asked! Thanks for the tip Rodzilla6!, It sucks having to wory about something like that at such low mileage, but I guess it is what it is.
