Default Cylinder heads

Hello All,

I dinged up the exhaust stud port on my rear head (i know sad) so now I need to replace the head. I see lots of softail heads on ebay, but not any that share the same part number as mine (17179-06). The most available heads are 17193-06. Will this work on my bike?

My wheels are 09 Rocker C.

Thanks!

why don't you replace the stud? whats wrong with it? can you just chase it with a thread chaser. This doesn't sound like a head replacement issue

Well the stud broke off and I tried ez out etc. Then like an idiot I tried to drill it out ON THE BIKE. Because of the angle, I drilled at an angle and almost through the side of a fin. Not all the way through though. I can see a little daylight when I look through the hole.

that sounds a little more fatal there, I believe that the 06 heads were smaller valves than the later ones that is why you see so many of them, do you think yours is repairable once the head is off? the stud can be removed and then weld the head and tp in a new stud. but by then you may be at the price of as used head. you want the later model head with the larger valves
