Default Need help!!!

Hey Guys, i have a question on an issue im having with my coil on my bike . It has an older Dyna 2000 ignition module and a dyna mite coil which i do not know if its single fire or dual fire. i cant read the part numbers i only see i a partial date code on the coil 6/97 . Well anyways my coil is down and go the H-D shop and a tech told me i could only use a dynatech coil as a replacement. whats the deal i see others in j&p that are the correct ohms 3.0 and the correct voltage range as well . Whats the difference? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at your coil. Dual fire should have 2 terminals, single fire will have 3

That would be my guess. I'd just make sure they will take it back if it doesn't work

Mark do you think that a drag specialites coil thats dual fire 3.0 ohms 35,000 - 45,000 volts would damage my ignition module? thats the specs for the dyna mite dual replacement coil.
