Here in Nova Scotia where a hot day is 30c/86f I'm getting 15,000 km or roughly 9,400 miles on a rear. Haven't replaced the front yet but it's only half worn at best right now.

You should be seeing a good article on Tires in AIM Magazine in the next two months if all goes as scheduled I think.

For those of us on older bikes, I would get about 10,000 miles out of the 130 Metzler on the rear. I switched to the Dunlop Elite 3's in a 140 width last time. It has more useable tread depth 11/32 vs 9/32 on the 130 width. The Dunlop rep said it has a dual compound for longer wear.
I changed the rear at 17,000 and the front at 23,000 so I am sticking with them.

Well looks like 8000 miles on my Metzlers isnt all that bad. It would be interesting to see whos riding 2up. I ride 2 up about 75% of the time I would assume that adds to wear. I really like the way the Metzlers ride so I have decided to get another one just the other day. Paid $155 plus install.

I dont know how you guys with the 200mm tire get such good milage out of them. Ive put around 20 rear tires so Ive tried many makes an models. Lucky to get 5-7k out of a rear. Running the Mich Com II and looking at replacing it at 8500. Must be my riding style.

Why can't they make motorcycle tires to wear as long as car tires? I mean, I know it's only two wheels, but come on. It's not even close...

Stop and go riding will wear a tire out fast. Two up not so much.

I was shocked as this is the first softails we've owned. Always had baggers and average 15k out of the rears. Along come our 2010 Softail Deluxes and bamm! Barely 10k out of the rears! We are in Florida so I realize the heat leaves rubber on the road, but we are very conservative riders. Good thing we have an indy do all our work otherwise our retirement money would be eaten up in replacing rear tires! After this next go-round when we have to replace both front and rear, may check out the Michellens

I'm at 7500 on my stock tires and they look like they have plenty of life left. I'm thinking I'll get to 10,000 easily, maybe more.
