Default questions about some softails with a springer and a 23!

Whats up guys, I plan on getting a softail soon, either a standard, duece or night train, not sure yet...Im probably going to rip into it as soon as I get it so Im looking for a cheaper model.2006 and up... I was curious to see if I was to buy a standard softail and put a springer on it what would I need to get to squeeze a 23 inch wheel in it.. I was thinking a 4 or 2 under springer with maybe a 3* rake to it if I can find it..Can anyone help me out with it..

I would say -2 under and use the Vulcan raked top tree if you use a Harley Springer. There are several springer mfg's to choose from that build raked units.

a couple guys on the Train forum run -4 under with 23's on tubes and they are short.Remember the rockers on the springer move the front axle out from the hydraulics fronts.Unless your running the rear slammed i would think 3* and -2 would be plenty low. That combo with a 21 leaves the frame about + or - a bit 4" off the ground. You have to ride around most speed bumps that low. You're only gaining 1" ht.with a 23 depending on side wall profile ht.
