I have mentioned in earlier posts, I am getting ready to install a set of 14" chubby 1 1/4 inch chrome apes on my Fatboy. I wanted 14's vs the 16's but thats another story. I actually posted up looking for brand opinions and got no help what so ever, so I used my old standby and went with Paughco. Since I am still waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive (damn USPS), I thought I would just do a quick test mock up last night.
Well, I just don't know here...... are these bars too narrow??? Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or once the accessories are installed will these bars fill the bike in better. Maybe its just me but as they sit on the bike they seem puny and pathetic. They are 14 inches high, 10 inch center width, 33 1/2 inches wide and have 9 inches of pull back. I mean, dang, those are fairly large bars. They are wider than the forks a well. So my question is, do I sell them and buy the 14" Wild 1 WO572's? The Wild 1's are narrower at the bottom by an inch, but 3 inches wider up top with more pullback? I have already clamped these on and messed with them, so they ain't going back, but I would rather not go threw all the hassle of internally wiring them up and installing them if I am just going to buy a wider set of bars in a week.
Bottom line, do I install these or buy wider bars and put the Paughco's on ebay???
edit: My wife looked at them for quite a while and thinks they flow perfect with the forks, but she's just girl, lol.

You can see how much wider these are than yours...
Put the Wild 1's on....

Well thanks for the split decision!!
Humm, according to the spec sheet, the Paughco's ARE wider at the bottom, but thats clearly not the case in reality. I wonder what the difference is in the way they are measured.
I also think my light bar is playing havoc with my mind. Without the light bar bolted to the forks, the Paughco's are a lot wider than the forks. With the bars, they appear the same width or narrower.
