Use a sharp punch ti pre-punch the hole, your bit won't run away then.

As this is sheetmetal, you will get a sudden punch through, so don't lean to hard on it!!

Make sure you paint the inside of the hole to prevent rust forming on the bear metal.

That's why I dig the softy section.....I knew I could count on yas! Thanx for the feedback...and ya looks like that is the ticket.

Benway...your bar looks good. I was worried that it would stand out more and not look like it belongs.

Cheers.

I did the same thing on my Heritage Springer. I didn't like the lights on the struts because I had removable bags. So I drilled out the fender and put the Deluxe turn signal bar on....

Looks factory when I was done.

Bags have arrived....no looking back now. Now to wait for the cycle vision brackets to come in. Tomorrow going to drop off the bags to get them re-clear coated to match denim black and also talk to the Indy about what to do about the light bar for fitment.

Looks like I have a winner for the bags...propped up for now to get a sense. I so dig the rounded edges compared to stocks. Once dropped an inch it will flush up to the rear fender bang on. The Cavalry bags feel of good quality, seals & solid. Only thing I see that will annoy me is how finiky the latches are to close. Oh ignore all the detachments heh....in a few days I am heading out on my 10 day road trip

Next round of powder coats...guess what get it

Sorry to u all non believers haha. Well a few minutes of wrenching will cure the bar hop blues. Why the signal bar makes sense all around. I really need bags bud....tired of carrying bungees to go get milk:P My buddy has a river side private campground a couple hours ride out of town....that was my big motivator to bag it for weekends and my annual long hauls. I just wanted to make sure it looks bad *** still. Studiopeg's ride & this gave me the inspiration (minus fairing)...

Oh you want a wimpshield...here ya go! Had to PC the hardware..chrome looked like crap. The wimpshield is only for very long hauls....our afternoonm gusts here are killer and feels like going 15 rounds without one.
