Default 2012 Fat Boy Lo Rear Brake Failure

Just bought the lo 3 weeks ago and put 700 miles on her riding Saturdays and Sundays. This weekend I was going 70mph in a declaration lane leading into a cloverleaf ramp with a ramp speed of 25mph. I hit the front and rear brake only to discover the rear brake pedal went all the way down letting me know the rear brake had failed. I was able to get her slow enough by downshifting two gears and aggressive front braking before I committed into the turn.

My question is has anyone who owns a new fatty lo had the rear brake fail yet? I just dropped the bike off last night at my dealer who will look at it this morning, so I don't know yet what broke. Anybody have the failure and if so what broke.

If the pedal went all the way down you lost fluid because of a leak. Did you see any signs of a leak? The other possible thing is that the rear brake was dragging and caused enough heat to boil the fluid in the rear brake lines. Did you see, or smell, any evidence of excess heat on the rear rotor?
Either way that had to be fairly scarry. Glad that that has never happened to me.

I didn't see any leaks and have no clue how it happened.

I have a 2010 LO. At about 3000 miles m rear brake failed. The pads came out of the caliper after a hard brake. The dealership claimed the pad was not put in correctly at the factory. Harley replaced the rotor and pads under warrenty and I have not had any problems since.
