Default The Springer is close to being done!!!

Today, I finally got to install the new shoes. I also installed chrome rotors, pulley cover, and Wild One Chubby dresser bars to go along with the swing arm covers, tear drop tool box, extended headlight and spotlight trim I installed 2 weeks ago. I have half moon floorboards, oval brake pedal, chrome controls, master cylinder and smaller bullet style signals to replace the god awful huge factory ones. I am going to relocate the front blinkers from handlebars to under spotlights as well. I still have to internally wire the bars - I just put them on today without wiring them because I didn't have time to install the master cylinder and controls today.

I am extremely pleased with the new look. Let me say I love the So Cal style, and came very close to going with a 21/18 setup. I mulled it over for weeks, and ever pic I saw of Heritage Springers with that setup I liked EXCEPT virtually losing the wide whitewalls. This bike was designed with such a classic look, that I kept thinking that losing the WWW's would cause it lose some of its nostalgic look. I decided that an 18 with a WWW Dunlop and an Avon Gangster on the rear would give me a fresher look, but would still have lots of sidewall. It honestly looks better to me than I even envision it would. The front tire is a 120/90 16, so it is taller than the 16" tire was, so I got a bigger diameter tire and rim while keeping the WWW. As I said before, I still have to chrome out the bars, install the floorboards, and install the new signals - but she's close to being done!

I'm sure it won't be for everybody, but I love it!

Here is a good comparison for the effect of the wheel change.

Looks the same. Maybe half moon floor boards and a round brake pedal would set it off.

NO I'M KIDDING! Looks awesome! I like the larger wheel in the front.

Any noticeable ride difference with the 18" up front?

Thanks guys!

Rich, I actually haven't ridden it enough to tell yet. I got to ride it about a mile up the road and back before the rain came it, but it felt smooth. I felt a difference at low speed. but I think that was more to do with wide bars.
