Default Headlight & AuxLight Trim Rings

Folks,Just did a light trim ring install on the '03 Fatboy.Went with the deepstyle rings.Aux lamp rings fit great,as they are clamp style,no probs. The headlight ring has a ton of slop, even after tightening.HD says the part # and part is correct for my bike.Does this ring require the foam strips around the inner part to "seat" the ring or something I'm missing??
Are there any differences in the bucket or nesting ring maybe? Thanks ahead guys

When I installed my LED headlight it came with a rubber O ring that goes around the light, when the headlight ring is tightened down it fits snug. Did you get the O ring?

Rip,I did not get an o-ring with the bezel. The headlight itself fastens to the bucket as normal with the nesting ring, no problems there. The bezel is whats giving me grief. It matches the bucket O.D. but seems too much space between bucket, and ring.Maybe this o-ring could be the fix,I'll buzz the dealer. Be back................

Default Headlight rim

I put the french ring around my passing and headlights. The passing lights fit nice an tight but the headlight had some slop in it and it rattled constantly. Finally had to get some of that insulating foam that use around air conditioners (the real narrow roll) and put some of that around the inside of the trim ring. Fixed it right up.

Is it the pinch type such as 69627-99 or does it have a tab at the bottom where you bolt it to the bucket? The pinch type usually mount over the top of the original trim ring.

I had the same problem with the deep set visor ring. I cut up some pick-up topper foam and put it in about the same place as the passing lamps had foam. Not a 100% fix, but a lot better.

Either one will work. The one you have replaces the stock ring and the one that I posted goes over the stock ring.

Their are two tabs on the bucket, 10 and 2 o'clock. Both should have a small rubber piece over them - very easy to miss or drop. Without those two pieces the trim ring will be very loose.
