Sound is such a hard thing to describe in words.

Because of the very uneven lengths of the cylinder exit pipes it was a bitch to tune (I finally had to have it dyno tuned). PowerVision which was great when I had Rush slip ons was worthless for this pipe.

It's not a great pipe for performance...and I don't care. If I wanted fast, I'd buy a Ducati. I'll be interested in hearing the results of your pipe...It is really awesome looking.

The other pipe I was considering was teh Yaffe Skirt Blowers...but I went with the Covington because it is just so unique and reminds me of a V8 hot rod exhaust.
If there are no baffles in your pipes, you'll be very well served with two thumbscrews from home depot in the pipes. I didn't believe it myself until I saw this video and I extracted the dyno results in the video and analyzed them. It's night and day better with the thumbscrews.

Here's my thread if you care to check it out.

That is VERY cool.

Ahh. That's good, they help performance due to stopping the reversion as you can see in the video I linked.

Well, once again, that's one cool bike indeed. One of my favorite springers I've seen!

Since everyone is sharing, here is my scoot. Waiting on my 12 inch vintage apes from Road6 to show up, so I can change it up a bit.

Awesome thanks for the detailed explanation. I like more unique exhausts too, but it's impossible to find unique, great performance and great looks into one with exhausts. I couldn't find any performance exhaust I liked, which I think is why I'm going to build one. I come from a hot rod past so I get what you mean about the style, kinda why I dig em too. I think you're refferring to that certain resonating frequency thatll send vibrations through everything?

I don't have baffles but as Joe pointed out I've got plans for a little something in there to help. I'm waiting curiously to see if the pipes do better or worse then Im expecting. I think as you said the more even length design could help a little, and it'll be interesting to see if the pipe acts a bit like a 2-1 collector, if so that will add a little more to it.

Worst comes to worst I'll try something else or build my own. Originally there were to no more power upgrades and I was just concentrating on style, just as you said man if you want to go fast then go buy something fast, not a Harley. But things got carried away, I'll do this dyno run with it and have a look at the results first. I'm
Im sure the 110 kit will fix some of the loss torque anyway lol

I have the Train look as well with the BigFrigginHeadlight mod. I've often considered the sprung seat like yours but I take some long trips with mine and that backrest is outstanding. Do you do any long trips (say couple of 400 mile days) with yours? Comfort level?
Joe, I've seen his bike! It's pretty freaking amazing! I'm in the middle of this idea I have, otherwise, I would bob mine, further. There are a ton of cool bikes on here!
