It's very easy. Remove the nut on the inside to take off the lock and pull the long pin on the hinge to separate the lid and box. Harley should make it in black but it only fits a Cross Bones when you take off the stock exhaust.
I'm not crazy about the place where it fits though since it covers half the little Willie G Skull and Bones. If you have an '08 it may cover the emblem.

Here's the pic of the bike with the painted battery cover and the powder-coated RH tool box. The pipes are new: Rush 7120SL - Multi Directional Slash Tip in black ceramic. New bars: H-D Narrow Beach Bar for Cross Bones.
Hello There,
Covenant, I love your xbones, anymore pics particularly the tail light and rear fender. I have a FXD limp taillight and fat-boy rear fender and plan to do the same. Cheers from Greg in Australia.
Hi Greg, thanks for the compliment it is much appreciated! I just installed the Wild1 Chubby Dresser Bars and I routed the wires internally which has cleaned up the front end tremendously. I will try to snap some pics later today. Here's a shot from last week with the Cross Bones Narrow Beach Bars (I don't recommend them: they're thin and flimsy).
