Springer Front End

RE: Springer Front End
Had mine for almost two years, tested her out on road trips last year and still wouldnt trade it for any other HD model. I question how anyone couldnt like the Springer, classic, work of art. Any future bikes or customs I buy or build will be springers. The heavy front end tracks solid through corners, handles like a dream. Wish I could have one of every springer ever made..........

RE: Springer Front End
My bike came with the new 49mm tubes and the extra beef was an improvement I thought over the smaller front ends from the past. I HAD to go springer though and have no regrets.
I gave up some braking capability but practically speaking, what I gave up I will never miss. As mentioned, I still have enough braking power to lock up the front wheel. I will never be racing where repeated, high stress braking is going to show the limitations of the front brake. After making the switch, I do need to apply more lever pressure. But after a couple of rides, I was used to it andI feel plenty safe (Actually, going from a 19" to a 21"DOES reduce my braking capability, but that's not the springer's fault). You will LOVE the nice level ride under braking instead of the big dive.
Thanks for the thread, any opportunity to check out some more springer pictures is always welcomed. Nice rides everyone!

Love my 04 FXSTSI would not trade for any other Harley. Also love my 02 Indian Spirit. Never know if it will get me where i'm going and back. Also rides and sounds like a worn out Ford but thats the fun. If I have to know I will get somewhere and back I ride the Harley.
