Cool Passenger comfort on Softail

I feel like someone has jammed my tailbone into my back when I ride behind my husband on his 2005 Heritage Softail that was lowered as much as possible.
He does NOT believe me.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I am avid biker but ride my 2007 Sportster 1200.

PLEASE help, causing problems with my honey!

My wife used to say the same thing about our 05 Heritage. It was so bad that we were considering trading it in on a Road king. I ended up buying a ten dollar spanner wrench and adjusting the suspension. WOW! What a difference that made! It's like riding a completely different bike. Totally happy with the Heritage now.

Floor boards on the Heritage? Or pegs..

Stock pegs are too high for long distance comfort.

Since it was lowered, not much you can do. The shock travel has been removed and is very limited. Adjusting the shocks may help, very little though... Get a thick seat pad may help.

I am sure it will be said so allow me to be the first....

I did an air ride on mine so I still had the look I wanted but could dial in the ride on the fly with my wife on the back. If your able to spring for something like that I believe it to be the best money I have spent on the bike so far. She doesnt complain about the sharp pain and jarring hits. Now, its just the vibration after a long distance ride she becomes numb. In her defense... I am running a Bandlander 2 up seat when not riding solo which is not the most comfortable thing ever.

Shoot, my tail bone is killing me and I ride my Deluxe!!! I am going to look into some customizing on my seat and when I do I think I am going to slip a gel pad in it. If that don't work then not sure what my next move will be. Since I have had my bike the only person to ride passanger has been my daughter but she said she was very comfortable back there, but she's 22 also!

Default Air cell seat cushion.

We use the Airhawk air cell seat cushion on our '06 Sporty and the '12 Heritage Classic and my wife loves it, you can see it in our sig. We can adjust the air pressure to fit the road conditions. And since your bike is lowered the shock travel to absorbe the road shocks has been reduced, as stated earlier try adjusting the shocks to a higher spring setting or go with the Air adjustable shocks, that's our next install on our bike.

The stock pillion isn't the best anyway so that would be the first thing to look at. When my wife rides on the back which isn't often (she has her own) I throw on a Mustang touring pillion.

It's 14" wide and very thick so it's not the prettiest looking seat but as far as comfort goes there's no comparison with the stock. They also make a 11" one.

I'm sure this will help alot but for the best 2up riding the Heritage should be brought back to it's stock height or close to it.

We would scrape and hit hard on every tiny contour of the road on our 04 heritage. Riding single ,the ride was nice but put 2 up and the scrapping began. My Indy said that the shocks are set to the lowest setting from factory so I got that nifty spanner wrench and tightened up both shocks under the bike and it make a humongeous differance. Quite a bit stiffer riding alone but with 2 of us on the bike I haven't scrapped since. Well spent 10 bucks on that wrench and both of our backs.
I also added a wider pillion inwhich made her seat more comphy than the stock one.
