Stability on bikes with 21" front tire

RE: Stability on bikes with 21" front tire
not to beat a dead horse here... but counterstearing / pushing of the handle bars makes the bike lean. Yes, the bike turns by leaning. Not by you shifing your body weight, the bike leans when you counterstear. The amount of force required for each bike to lean is different on each bike. Rake, handlebar positioning and bike height / height angle all play a factor in this. For those with adjustable rear suspension, try this:
lower the rear end of the bike as much as is safely possible, (leaveing the front end higher than the rear). This will transfer weight to the rear (negative height angle). Riding a bike set-up like this, you will notice that the bike will stear (lean) very easily.
next, raise the rear end as high as is safely possible, (making the rear end higher than the front). This will transfer the weight to the front (positive height angle). Now you'll notice that the bike is more difficult (requires more force) to turn.
Hope this explaination helps??

I believe that at least part of the problem we are having in describing HOW we ride a bike is that many of us have been doing it so long that we do it completely unconciously.
So trying to describe what you doin a complete state of unconciousnessisn't as easy as it might at first seem.
BTW According to my wife I have been unconcious since birth.
