Throttle Grip turns past snap back point
After having to wait 5 weeks for my new grips to arrive (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US)
I installed them yesterday and took it out for a spin to make sure everything was ok. The install turned out easier than I was sweating it. The only thing I do notice now though is that I can turn the grip past the snap back point.
I adjusted the back cable with the grip wide open until it was taut. Then I adjusted the front cable not touching the grip. I ran the adjuster to about a 1/16" free play. I don't remember if the stock grips moved past the snap back point so I don't know if I have done this install correctly yet or not.
What I do know is that these grips feel superior to stocks and were worth the wait. I just hope this is normal and I have done the install ok.

I had to take my bike to the dealer today for a recall. I asked them to take a look at the throttle grip return cable. What they found was that the cable had come loose at the opposite end of the adjuster. No matter how I tried to adjust it the cable would have never worked properly. Makes me feel better that it wasn't something I was doing, but rather something I wasn't. Grips feel great now.
