For the rear, I went went with the red lens and later bought the module to convert the turns to Run, Turn and Brake lights for about $50. You can get the module and lens as kit too for a few more dollars.

Here is a shot of the bike in mini tour mode

Here is a pic I just took to show the stand off.

It doesnt look bad in person but its those damn sissy bar docks that bring the bag out another 7/8 of an inch. If you dont want to run sissy bar you can order a kit for a fat boy instead of a deluxe (or at least get fat boy dock hardware separate if you already ordered) Now that I think about it the difference is just the bolt lengths.

If you use axle covers then it all depends on your bag, as you can see from mine I have a dead flat reinforced back panel. The leather is very think and sturdy so they hold their shape pretty well and should never rub anything.

I dont use my bags much unless Im going on day trips so that I can bring rain gear, extra clothes...etc

As for the HD bags I apologize and dont mean to offend but I dont like the depth and look of the deluxe bags and the heritage bags look great and are a good size but are just too saggy after awhile. One of the best looking bags IMO are the springer style bags that various vendors offer but they are pricey and large.

anyway just my $.02...post pics once you get everything done

Thanks for the pic Motown. Did you say those are the boss 42s? It doesn't look bad but it does stick out a bit. I don't really care what it looks like on the bike I'm definitely concerned with what it'll look like off the bike though. It doesn't seem like much to remove the mounts though, I could be wrong though but we will see on Wednesday when they arrive.

What did you use to cover the bolt holes in the rear fender? I'm thinking of taking off the luggage rack

509- thanks for telling me harley sold them covers, I don't know why but I missed em the other day when I went to the dealer and missed em online. Picked up some red and chrome covers for the rear and smoked for the front. Huge improvement.

I covered the holes with license plate bolt chrome snap covers.

When the bags are off I dont notice the docks much but yeah, its a 5 min job to swap them out with the stock bolts.

Motown your bike looks good with the bags.

Did my soft brake without a jack
I used red lenses on my rear turn signals, I think they look a lot better

Kozy you had a good looking bike to start with but its just plain bad *** now with the new wheels.

I like my bags but I always put them on with my stock seat and the stock seat puts me way too high now that Im used to the BBones...you know what Im talking about, the BB really puts you down into the bike and I ride better like that...hard to go back.

Red Mo, if you want a Frt Fender guard like the one most of us run I have a brand new HD one never mounted that I will let you have brand new for $20 less than I paid for it (since you are a Wolverine fan)

PM me if you want it.
