Default Can I just remove my Fatboys factory baffels?

I have been looking at exhaust systems for over three days. I can't see replacing an entire system on my 2012 Fatboy just for that Harley sound.
Will removing my baffels require me to recalibrate anything with my engin or fuel injection? How can I tell if it will pass inspection? Guessing it will sound great!

This sounds sick!

There is no PA motorcyle emission testing. My only concern would be voiding the 7 year extended harley warrenty or do I need anything else adjusted after I torch the baffels?

(NO)

How can I tell if it will pass inspection?

We don't have inspection's here so I have No Idea what Ur state does.

Guessing it will sound great!

I've only heard 3 HD's Touring bikes in person that the owners took out the baffles and they sounded like a VW farting.

my buddy took the baffles out of his week old 03-04? heratige. it sounded great. he used a hole saw just smaller then the chrome muffler opening, cut the edge and pulled everything out. i had a set of sportster mufflers, just knocked the two plugs out of the center. its basically a glass pack muffler. i used them muffs on several bikes mounted to cut off dragpipes for headpipes. always sounded great but and too loud.. stock touring bikes have a regular chambered muffler(like a car), so they sound horrible when modified, much better to go aftermarket in that case.

My 01 Fatboy when I bought it the guy had gutted them. They sounded good and it ran ok. I know it is better to have back pressure. Not sure how that would affect your warranty...I would worry more about the warranty. I am running V&H BS Longs now with no baffles.

Plus I am thinking the cats are in the muffs on Softy's. U might want to keep them stock and just buy some others in case U ever have to go back to them.

Also American Customs won't convert your mufflers because the 2011 and up Lo's have cat's in them.

I took a metal pipe and smashed out the baffles on my 2012 Deluxe this past weekend and it doesn't sound bad, not great but not bad. I am getting my Samson 33" long tails this week so I wasn't to concerned about long term sound just something to make it better than stock and a fun project to do late at night. It runs fine, feels like I picked up some hp but maybe not. It does burbble on decel but that was expected and need a new tune to fix that. That's down the road though.

If your pipes are like mine and I think they are you can do it with ease.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm thinking slip ons are the way to go. I really want that slash cut look on my bike. Does the rear of the muffler just interchange with the slip ons? I just want the harley sound and slash cut look...
