Default Attaching a backpad to sissy bar

Hi all: I purchased a 105 Anniversary Backpad to put on my 08 FLSTF. It is a Med-low. The problem is all the new sissy bars have the mounting holes in different locations (you would think HD could standardize this).

Right now I an assuming the backpads have some sort of wood on the back of the pad (under the vinly) with threaded anchor holes. What I an wondering is how will I attach the pad? Should I use some sort of lag screw? I am sure I am not the first person to face this issue.

Thanks a bunch, Chris.

I'd think if U have the right parts that's made for u bike they should fit together. least mine all did.

Ur statement that all the new sissy bars have their hole's in different locations is what I can't figure out,,
So Ur saying that a sissy bar, part no xxxx. has the hole location that mounts the pad drilled different on each one of them?.

I bolted the new Tourning pad I bought back in 07 right to the Detachable sissy bar I got at the same time. mounted up perfect.

why does it matter where the hole in the sissy bar is? you match up that hole with the hole in the pad and put the screw in. unless i'm misunderstanding what you're saying?

Thanks for the replies. Here are two sissy bars that fit my bike:

51477-06 - this bar has two holes, one on each side of the mini-medallion.
53282-06 - this bar has one hole, in the middle of the mimi-medallion.

Now, looking at pads, including those for fatboys, some have tow holes aligned vertically, not horizontal.
