First let me say thanks to everyone for helping me with all of my "will it fit" questions, everyone has been a great help in me scoring a bunch of free goodies for my 12 Deluxe. My dad keeps mailing me all of his old springer parts, bags, cheese grater, fender racks etc. He is located 15 hours away and Im not getting my deluxe until I return from my deployement (active duty military) so Ive really counted on you guys.

Well I mentioned that I was looking at the fat spoke wheels for my new deluxe, and lo and behold he mentioned that he has his rear fat spoke wheel and brand new tire off of his 97 springer. Stock size.

Will his stock size fat spoke rear rim fit on the rear of my 2012 deluxe?

Man that would be great, just need to get the 21 for the front then...

oh and I owe my dad big time, he refuses to take money but I'll figure out someway to pay him back. I know he'll use a gift cert from his Harley shop!

 

I am pretty sure that the answer is NO. I believe the axles are different sizes. If I'm wrong someone will chime in shortly.

 

I do believe the 97 springer rear wheel/tire are narrower than the 3.5" x 150 that's on the '12 deluxe.

 

you are correct. the axle sizes are different from the old ones and the new.
