Installing Burly Bikini bars on Deluxe
My Burly Bikini bars came in and I’m going to install them on my Deluxe tomorrow or over the weekend and wanted to get some feedback before I continue. From the research I’ve done it appears that the wires and cables should fit without any problem (oh I’m sure) using the Chubby 1.5” risers. What I couldn’t find out is if the wires will be long enough running them inside the bar versus the outside, or do you think I’ll have to lengthen them either way?
Also, replacing the risers looks like it will be a little tight but I think I'll be able to get to the bolts without having to remove the headlight assembly, so that’s a plus if in fact I’m correct in that assumption. Anything that you can think of that will help things go smoother for me please add your two cents worth!

Hello. I have recently completed the same project as well, basing the process on the info available throughout the forum. Basically, "yes" the stock wires will work even when ran internally........its tight, but works. I am by no means an HD mechanic and was able to complete the project. I removed the seat, console and tank......then went to work on the wiring. I used a coat hanger as electrician fish tape to run the wires thru the bars. The only mishap was crossthreading one of the risers and spilling gas on my phone.......
Its not a tough job, just a little time consuming. If I can do it, anyone can.
Best of luck,
Slippie.

Well, couldn't get my gas tank off to access the wiring so I'll have to wait till I can get a torx bit set. While I had the new bars on it appeared as if the hand brake may be too short. Of course, it may be possible to raise or straighten out the metal tubing to get enough slack, just have to wait and see!

I have that shitty metal tubing on the hand brake as well. I bought some nice stainless braided lines to replace the tubing with, but they're still sitting on my work-bench. I guess that's on the list for next winter...
The tubing does bend around quite a bit, but be careful of kinks or cracks.
