Hi all just looking for a few opinions.. Been using throw over saddle bags for years but they wear and rip and I actually lost one off the Bike this year. Picked up by a state police officer and returned to me... Thankfully!

I checked a few places out for bolt on bags but My year Softail seems to be an outcast, 1985. Everything listed is 68-84 and 86-99.. Nothing direct for my bike.. Any of you guy's who ride older Evo's know of a good bolt on Bag for my year bike even if I have to do a little modification here or there that's cool. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed! Thanks in advance!

 

On my 1986 FXSTC, I replace the fender strut bolts with longer ones and run them through a set of throw over bags.
I cut the throw over section off the bags and run a piece of drilled aluminum inside that the bolts pass through as added support.

 

Good Idea!!! Thanks. What are you using for throwovers??.. I have to get a new set anyway.
