Default fair price to buy bike???

Hello! I am new to the forum. My father has owned harleys for many years but has gotten to the age where he hardly uses them anymore. One of his bikes is a 2003 softail springer 100th anniversary. I remember when I was younger and he bought the bike new. I had always loved it. So, a decade and a whopping 850 miles later haha he asked me to sell the bike for him. The problem is I had no desire to sell the bike, I wanted to buy the bike from him. I am putting my 71 corvette up for sale and once it has sold, I told him I would buy the springer. The problem is that given the age and mileage of the bike I am kinda lost on what would be "fair"price? I am not new to forums and promise this isnt one of those "oh how much is my stuff worth a.k.a. I am trying to slip in a classified". I legitimately want this bike, but have seen prices all over the rainbow from 10-15grand? I know with older corvettes that having something with such low original mileage can cause a MASSIVE variance in price, but from looking at comps I dont necessarily see the same consistencies in price variation with used harleys? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I should mention it is black with silver stripe, and is stock except the baffles. It also has a couple scratches on the rear fender from someone apparently trying to unscrew the seat and missing terribly?haha Thank you again!

Since you did not post any pictures which are really loved in this forum and opinions vary widely even in here, I would start with either Kelly Blue Book or NADA websites.

Springer softail, or Heritage Springer. There is a big difference as far as pricing goes.

Heritage Springer has the bags, full fenders and 16" front wheel and are getting pricing higher than NADA book..

Let's see some pics

Probably the Heritage Springer as I don't believe they made any 21" Springers in Black and Silver (Limited Edition).

If the Heritage, here is the KBB:

Thanks for the help so far guys! I didnt want to post pics for fear of someone mistaking this as a for sale plug. I can post some up tonight! I can get a baseline price on the bike. I guess my real question is just how much of an impact does 850 original miles have on a bike like this? I am not incredibly familiar with the Harley market or the used motorcycle market period. And it is just the softail springer.

Not much difference with extremely low miles. If it has been serviced (oils put in at dealer) and not ridden it is more of a bad thing than good. Oil breaks down, tires rot, etc. Basically you have a 10 year old bike that has sat in a garage and never been ridden or serviced.

Would NOT scare me though. Springers are sweet.

Standard Springer - FXSTSI should be around $9,000-10,000.

If I was selling my bike to my son under those conditions, I'd make him a deal he couldn't refuse.

So thinking, ask Ur dad what he would take for it.. May be surprised what he'll let U have it for.

If this helps answer your question. I have a 1995 Springer Softail Badboy it has 14000 mile on it , & asking $8700. In my opinion the more a bike sits around the more problem you will have with it . Here a picture of the bike I have for sale. , Troy
