Just put a set of them in Longshots. Made a noticeable difference on the butt dyno. Also helped with ride-ability after I put in the Andrews cams. They add a little back pressure to equalize the exhaust pulses. They also took the harshness out of the exhaust note. Sounds like a Harley at idle, suitably loud on accel, quiet at cruise, at least at 40-50. Haven't had em on the highway. For $20 what have you got to lose? Do you not like the BSS baffles?
Machinistmate - I do like the stock baffles, but I hate the decel pop I get.. Just heard about them and was interested... Oct1949 - just gave me some info
On them that I'll be reading over my morning java.
Nighttrain, There is more of a rumble and a little bit of a "hiss" is best way I can describe it. Wasn't sure at first if I like it or not. I guess I don't mind it. No pop at all.
1949 - I did google it. Before I asked the question. Just wanted to
Know personal experience and opinions! Smart ***! Lol
U didn't ask for that!
Can't read Ur mind when U ask for help in here...
I used something like these back in 65 on my 305 Super Hawk, I put Webber side pipes on that didn't have baffles in them.
We called them Flippers back then, We could reach back and flip them shut for riding in town, (police would nail U then for loud pipes) then one out of town we'd flip them open for straght pipes.
and no, If Ur running baffles U don't/want/need to have them.
Got them on my EVO. Work great for me. I had some samson baffles and the thunder torques gave me a little louder sound and a little more jump off the throttle.
All around I'm happy with the Vance and Hines baffles. Just hate that deceleration pop. My buddy says it sounds like I'm dropping nuts and bolts as I let off the gas lol. Oh well. in the end I'd like to upgrade to a 2 into 1 big radius or a thunder header.
