If you buy a new speedo it has to be preset, by the factory, to the mileage you now have on the bike.
That's to comply with a Federal law that was designed to prevent the old practice of putting new speedos in, or turning back the mileage on old cars to fool customers.

Its looking like a bad drive motor in my speedometer itself. Anyone have this issue before?
