Who out there is riding the HD seat with a riders back rest. I am looking at putting one on my Heritage and would like opinions as to how you like the seat. Looked at the Mustang and like it, But would really like a one piece seat with the riders back rest. So anyone with a heritage or fatboy with the riders back rest seat please chime in.

If it is the one like in the picture I like it. A little hard - actually bought a gel pad.... I like the solo look better and have been thinking about a Mustang - would like to sit in it first though....nobody seems to stock it[]

There is a guy in the classifieds here on the forum who does stock seat mods - any one used him - have and opinion?

You can get a Protac backrest for 130 bucks that will work with your stock seat or about any other seat. They are a quick detach backrest. I several people with them. They are nice items.

I have sat in a Mustang and they are very comfortable, I just like the look of the one piece two up seat, Plus my wife or daughter is usually riding with me so I have to have a two up. But the Mustang is very comfortable. I wish Mustang made a one piece Two up with the riders back rest.

 

Can I ask how come does it has to be a 1 piece? I understand the need for two seat spaces, "butt" the Harley Davidson seats are anything but comfortable... I purchased two after market seats from HD and still looking for the cash to get a Mustang...

I bought one and returned it the day after I installed it. I pushed me forward and I felt like I was sitting on the tank. Its probably a good choice for short legged rigders..but I'm 6' and it didn't work.

same with the firehouse customs backrest...it'll move you forward a bit. I went back to the stock seat with o back rest and just wear a kidney belt on longer rides.
guess I'll just have to buy a geezer glide

 

I like the look of the one piece seats, But I have taken noticethat you cannot find any used Mustang seats for sale. and there are several of the HD seats that come up for sale. So maybe I should give up my wanting the one piece and go for the function over form.

 

I have considered the seat and sat on one the problem I had was swinging my stubby little leg over it when getting off... one thing I do see is alot of those seats for sale on E-bay and almost all of the descriptions go... "bought it and hated it"

 

I have the HD bucket seat with back rest. Overall, I like the seat, but it will move you forward about 1.5 inches.
