Default How Do You Keep Your Passenger Pegs Up When Not In Use?

I am having trouble keeping my passenger pegs folded up when not in use on my Blackline.
I have swapped for some Harley aftermarket pegs and have the same issue. They start to fold out when I am riding. I tried bending the spring clip a little more but that only works temporarily.
I just finished putting some stainless bolts with nyloc nuts on there and snugged them up tight, but I was wondering what others have done?

On my rear floorboards they have a spring long ball that snaps in a hole when in the up position so they stay up easy, in fact U have to use a little force to put them down.

Are U bolts tight? or can U put a metal shim between the peg and frame to make them tighter.?

There are no bolts when stock. There are pins that go through with c clips on the end of them. Then a bent metal shim between the frame and the peg that acts as a spring. I have tried changing the bend of the shim and t works, but only temporarily.

ive never had a problem with them staying up..the spring clip should do the trick normally..what brand of pegs did you install if not harley thats probably the culprit..ive had problems with aftermarket parts fitting so now i only use genuine harley parts..

They are Harley pegs.
They are the "edge cut collection" pegs.

That little spring wears out over time and you either have to replace it or get some bolts and a locking nut to keep more tension to replace the peg and c-clip setup thats stock.

One thing is to mount them so they don't point straight up when folded in. I usually run passenger pegs so they fold up and back at an angle. This tends to remedy that issue quite well. Plus I thought I read somewhere that pegs should fold back at least at an angle and not straight up and down. This allows them to fold in should they strike anything as the bike moves forward, possible preventing loss of control. I might have read that in the mounting instructions of a set of peg mounts I got once for my Crossbones.

You can bend the spring shim some to make them stiffer. When you cant get the peg back in the slot then its enough. Muscle it in and you should have enough tension to keep them up while driving.

Mine are shorter chrome aftermarket parts but they all work the same. The bolt and nut solution is great if you don't mind the hardware sticking out.

I had the same problem. Bolt and nut does the trick.
