I understood you to say that you just installed beach bars 6 months ago. So my point was that when the beach bars were installed you would have required an electrical wiring extension for your hand controls of at least 4 inches.

If you are now going to install apes, you will also need a longer wiring harness extension for your controls?

I can only guess since you haven't stated what length cables you are currently using with the beach bars, but can assume you used a +2 or +4 inch for the cables, (not electrical wiring) so to install 14" apes, yea, I'd say you'll need new cables as well. HAHA

No big deal, if I'm not making sense please disregard. HAHA

Hey Jay. Yes you will need new cables like NC said you probably have +2 or +4 cables. You will most likely need + 8 for 14 " Carlinis. Also as NC stated you will most likely need new wiring extensions. But that depends on what they installed when they did your beach bars.

You need to find out what size wiring ext they used when installing your beach bars. If they went longer you may be OK.

It's all good man. You probably wouldn't have a difficult time finding a buyer for your bars and cables so that may help offset the cost some.

But yea man, that's still going to be a lot of coin on top of what you just put into the Burleys. I know mine weren't cheap for sure.

That's exactly what I was thinking myself! At least selling the cables and bars MAY cover the labor. I hope......

What if you were going from 14'' carlini's to a set of burly beach bars.......would the wires still work or would they be too long?

may have to swap mine out to ship the bike to europe and ensure it passes the german inspection.

When i installed my beach bars on my 2011 deluxe I didn't have to replace my cables or get wire extentions but I beleave in 2011 the wires and cables are longer then previous years. With that said.....

You will need wire extentions ( I used 12" Nanz w/16" carlinis), +8" on all cables should be good. And you can save a lot of $$ by doing the install yourself.
