RE: Predictions for '08 Softails???
I'm not sure where some ofyou guys have been the last couple of years, but the EPA regulations for motorcycles are pretty much setthrough 2010 The newregulations began to take effect the first of 2006. By 2010, all 50 states will be in compliance with California's emission standards. And for those of you not paying attention a few years ago, the governmentnot only saw fit tostick it to us, they decided the pain wasn't significant enough, and went ahead and broke it off. Here is a short synopsis of thebill. You can search and find the bill in it's entirety, but this is alayman's version. The section concerning custom bikes, will come as a real surprise to those of you not familar with the bill..

Hi FXST,
you have a very nice ride there. I hope they don't change too much for 08 but the EPA and other Government restrictions will make some changes. I have a 07 FXST with chrome kitand have ordered PC111, V&H straight shots(make for Harley sound)and SE air cleaner. Will be very peed off if they bring that out as standard in 08 with a price reduction!!!!!

RE: Predictions for '08 Softails???
I heard from a dealer that they may start emissions testing in 2008. Any mods to your scoot will have to be changed back to stock. But the world was supposed to end a few years ago, so I don't believe anything I hear and only half of what I see. That was my Grandpappy's advice 40 years ago. Ride safe everyone. Jr.

RE: Predictions for '08 Softails???
Does comment from a dealer count as a prediction? When i was ordering my 07 Deuce the dealer made me aware they expected some styling changes for the 08 Deuce. Considering the changes across the rest of the softail range for 07 (new engine and transmission) i took the view the only thing left would be the rear wheel... and i figured they'd bump it up to 200mm at best - well i was close.
I had an Australian dealer confirm the 2008 Deuce will have as stock a 240mm rear.
