Dave, Glad to hear that you're enjoying the new bike! I'm 6' tall and went with the standard windshield, but found that I was looking through the plastic, so I removed it right away and exchanged it for the lower height one which works perfect for my height. It may be too low for your height, but you may want to check it out...

So Dave, How has your '05 held up mechanically? The reason I ask is that I'm 10 days away from the end of the factory warranty on my '08 Deluxe and the dealer is suggesting strongly that I buy the extended warranty service. I'm approaching 30k miles and haven't had any warranty mechanical issues...yet. Barely 6 months into owning it I went from Albuquerque NM to LA up to Ukiah CA back down to Sacramento CA then over to Reno, Salt Lake City(full moon at night accross the salt flats was cool), Grand Junction CO and down to Pagosa Springs CO before getting back to Alb all in 7 days. Strong bike, the Deluxe. Looking for an opinion from a seasoned Deluxe owner like yourself. Thanks brother.

Default My often used Deluxe!

Hope uploading photos is easy! Here she is about 5 feet from where I hit 25k miles some 50 or so miles south of Jemez Springs NM. To prepair for my trip in August of '08 I put the crash bars, pegs, and windshield on it and just strapped things onto the passanger seat. I liked that clean look- for about two years. Now, I'm at least looking to add some brown leather saddle bags. Not bragging, but I feel fortunate living out here in the West so I can ride 12 months out of the year. Thanks brother, you got a real nice Deluxe as well I see! Great looking bikes.
