Default My bike will not start... :(

Ok so this is what happened….

The bike sat for maybe one week in the garage. I tried to start it on the first warm day we had and crank, crank, crank… nothing. Fuel pump comes on, so I pulled a plug, yep. No spark. A friend told me, to check the battery in the security fob… sounded right to me, I’m not a mechanic…
Well now it won’t even crank… so now I have two problems. I have to take to the dealers, but they can’t even look at it for a couple weeks….
So if ANYONE has an idea, I would REALY appreciate it!
It is a 2002 Heritage Softail Springer….

If the problem was the fob, you would think it would not crank. The fact that it did for a bit ... I would check you battery connections and make sure they didn't loosen up a bit. These bikes act really weird with loose connections.
Other than that I have no idea ... but I'm in suspense.

Key fob would stop the fuel pump and the cranking

Bike wont crank if the fob has a problem, Did the no crank start after you opened the fob? (yes) dheck that you put the battery in the right way.
Check batt voltage you should have around 12.6 volts full charge, test while cranking you need over 9,6 for most electronic ignition systems to work.

Sounds like the battery is dead.

Put it on a charger overnight and see what happens.. then figure out why it died.

I'd start w/your battery...get a small charger (Wal Mart = $30) and put it on overnight. Also, like cromagnon recommends, ensure battery cables are tight (both ends) and clean. If not - tighten & use baking soda/water mix + wire brush to remove corrosion. Once charged you should have 12.7V on full battery (meter test terminals). If it doesn't start from there then it's time for plan-B...
