Default Stock Air Box - Drilled with K&N

I believe I've seen a thread where someone was running a K&N filter element, but drilled out the back of the stock air box so it would perform like any of the Stage 1 upgrades.

I'm interested in doing this mainly because I'm one of those wing nuts that actually likes the look of the stock air box. I would really like to see photos of this "mod" if any of you have done it.

Or, any input on this is appreciated.
