Default Good Universal "saddle bag" luggage for Rocker

Anyone have a universal set of bags for their rocker? This link is an example of one im looking at but dont know how it would fit with the larger rear fender.

http://www.jpcycles.com/product/246-254

I have vh 2 - 1 so im not even sure how they would work with that as well.

Any information is appreciated.

This is my first post but ive been looking around on this forum for months now. My name is Ryan, nice to meet everyone.

I would be interested in some information on this also as Harley Genuine Luggage piece is highly priced.

Just my opinion, but I think saddle bags don't look right on a Rocker. If I were to actually do some on mine, I would only do the HD ones as they are removable. Pricey, yes, but you can run them just when needed and not make the bike look bad all the time.

They look good and probably wouldn't look to bad on the Rocker, but my concern would be damage to the paint on the fender. how do they prevent that?

Good point. These would be only for longer trips and are supposedly easily removed.

The paint is an issue. Im not sure what the fabric would do to the paint. wonder if anyone has had these on their rocker?

On my old Shadow I originally had throw over saddle bags. Even with fabric lining the leather, it scuffed the paint so that it was dull where the bags were. Had to run a fender bib when I just had the solo seat. After that experience I would only hard mount bags

That is exactly what I did from FL to NJ but make sure to pack light!
I took the passenger seat out and had the backpack laying on top of it so that it was not pulling on my back.
Did well but saddle bag would have been easier!

I guess we have to suck it up and buy the genuine ones.

Enjoy your new ride and welcome to the forum! I have a Leatherworks 5" left side bag on my rocker which I love. Holds a good bit and expands up a few inches if you need to fit some additional stuff in. I use this bag, a large fork bag and another fork bag secured to the back right side for trips and it works out well. I travel with a minimalist attitude and it works out great.
