Yea, I know what you mean but I only get 2 weeks off a year and one of them is for a family vacation so I have to do the best I can with one week otherwise I'd ride all over the Country too!!

There's 10 of us coming from the Pacific NW. This ought to be an interesting trip for sure. 1200 miles one way leaving on the 3rd arriving on the 5th. Staying 5 days returning West on the following Friday. I guess I should say that's the plan but if I don't get back to work soon, it ain't gonna happen for me this year!

I rode to Sturgis last year from Springfield, MA. and wanted to see the sites along the way, not just jump on the superslab and stare at asphalt for 8+ hours a day. Take route 20 as far as you can..you'll ride through scenic towns with places to take a break, vineyards, plenty of gas stations and bars, miles and miles of corn fields, those big wind farms that i've never seen before..and you'll still be able to do 60/65 in some places. Man..I would love to do it again, ride safe!

Wrote a travel blog for my wife and friends so they could follow along..Here's the link if your bored

I'm in El Paso, TX. That's about 1000 miles one way for me. I have family in northern Wyoming so unless I have people to go with to camp or grap a hotel, I'll stay with them. I'd love to go this year but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. I'm also planning a 1900 mile trip in late June or early July timeframe. 2 trips like that so close together may prove to be a disaster. But if there are any groups meeting in the southwest and headed out, I'd be interested in tagging along.
