thanks for all the advive. much apreciated. i do plan on taking a riding course. and im going to go check out a demo next month at a local dealer. so il be able to climb and test a few diffrent bikes out. i really like the deuce. im also really looking at the dyna superglide. any thing to say about the superglide?

By asking this question in the softail section you have already made your choice. Get what speaks to you and what you want otherwise you'll spend all your time justifying the choice. Oh but it was cheaper. Oh but it's faster. Oh but I got a better deal. In reality, you just got something you didn't want. Get the deuce. Don't worry about it being too fast or too big. You'll get used to it soon.

I traded my Sporty for a Deuce after 5 months. The Sporty was much quicker, but the Deuce is a much better ride. If you buy the Sporty you will want to trade up soon after. The Deuce is much easier to ride and handle. I kept putting money into my Sporty to try to make it like the 'big' bikes, and then decided just to go buy one. Don't make the same mistake I did. Just get the Deuce now and get it over with. You'll be glad you did!
