Well if we're going to just go bar hopping around town then any helmet will do - and we wear half helmets.

For longer trips you have to be ready for all kinds of things like weather and I plan on trying the Nolan N43 Modular. They're heavy but they are a 6-in-1 helmet and go from full face to open face, and have inserts for a communication system/speakers too. They also have a 'top gun' pull down visor you can use. Being able to go from full face to 3/4 with visor means I get the best of both worlds without having to carry two helmets - and same for the wife if 2up. Check out this video:

I had a burnt orange bell 500... I think you should stay with the med... it will sit high because of the extra 1" of DOT stuff that need to be there.

Are there any 1/2 helmets that aren't noisy and catch the wind?

 

Been real happy with my Datona DOT half with no visor. It dont catch the wind and thats with no windshield on. Never had a noisy helmet. Best 1/2 ive had.

socal yankee I love your bike ,sorry not trying to bump the thread ,been following it but I love this style of bike,is there a name for this , the big wide low bars and fish tails like yours and NC DELUX ?
You should put up a bunch of pics in your back page its a buitifull bike man !,love the helmet Too,my girlfriends not impressed , but I think its a sweet lid !! LOL
